Although many of us experienced life before Wi-Fi networks, it has become impossible to imagine our personal and working lives without it. Being wireless connected to the enterprise network or the internet means we can access resources far quicker and more efficiently than ever.

Wi-Fi technology is a fast-growing industry where networks are becoming faster, more efficient, and more secure. User experience is a key factor and a measure of a well-designed Wi-Fi network!

Behind the scenes, Wi-Fi technology is complex and resilient, which makes the Wi-Fi design of a business-critical Wi-Fi deployment a crucial task. Skyline Networks can assist you with our WLAN Deployment Model on every level of this journey.

WLAN RF Design Services

In the Wi-Fi Design phase of the WLAN Deployment Model, we examine the needs and desires that you expect from the Wi-Fi infrastructure crucial for your business. We help you create a user/business case based on this information so that we can determine the Wi-Fi requirements for the Wi-Fi measurements and procedures.

Depending on the situation, we can do a WLAN RF Design (on-premises) or a Predictive WLAN RF Design (off-premises) Wi-Fi design. Both audits will provide the correct information on how many Wi-Fi access points and antennas you need and where to install them. Also included is essential information regarding RF parameters for the Wi-Fi radios configuration for a well-balanced overall RF spectrum.

Installation Services

As strange as it may seem in a Wi-Fi deployment, the first thing to do before installing the access points is to run ethernet cables to the measured locations of the access points to connect these to the Local Area Network.

Another crucial aspect of a successful Wi-Fi deployment is correctly installing the access points, antennas, and mounting accessories.

Wi-Fi technology is built on radio waves, and specific rules must be respected. Radio Frequency technology requires properly installing access points, antennas, and mounting accessories; an adequate installation is beneficial for all WLAN devices and applications’ overall performance.

It’s crucial to respect the vendor’s hardware installation guidelines, industry best practices, and the recommendations outlined in our WLAN RF Design report.

Let our install engineers adequately install your access points, antennas, and mounting accessories!

Verification WLAN RF Design Service

The Verification WLAN RF Design is the third stage of the WLAN deployment model, although this stage is sometimes overlooked or not budgeted in the project’s overall scope. It’s one of the most crucial steps of the Wi-Fi design process. When all the access points are installed and configured, the WLAN infrastructure’s radio management algorithms will control and disperse several settings like channels, TX power, and minimum Data Rates for all radios in both frequency bands. Some of these settings can change depending on how strongly the access points hear each other. This dynamic is very hard to predict in the WLAN RF Design phase but can significantly impact the overall performance of the Wi-Fi network.

During this onsite service, we validate these RF parameters and the overall RF coverage if it meets the requested WLAN Requirements defined in the WLAN RF Design report. A visual inspection of the installed access points and antennas, all results are documented in the Verification WLAN RF Design report with a detailed action plan if applicable.

That’s more than one good reason to budget a Verification WLAN RF Design to optimize the RF environment for optimal performance.

Optimization

The Optimization phase is the last stage in the WLAN Deployment Model, although this step is often not budgeted or foreseen in the overall WLAN project. In the previous stage (Verification WLAN RF Design), the overall RF environment (Wi-Fi infrastructure) has been optimized for optimal performance. With an optimized RF environment, the next step is rolling out wireless devices and applications.

The Optimization phase mainly focuses on wireless clients. Some wireless clients can be stubborn regarding roaming or connectivity, even if the RF environment is optimal. Some feature parameter tweaking might resolve these issues.

Some use cases for this type of Wi-Fi service are wireless client validation and wireless client troubleshooting.
